Does Not Recommend/Hesitant: Dr. Sucharit Bhakdi,

Microbiologist, Immunology

Interview with Dr. Bhakdi on Potential Dangers of mRna Vaccines

Relevant time stamps:

11:33 - 20:00,  36:06 How do mRna vaccines work?:  Notes concerns about the production of spike proteins spreading to areas where the virus would not have been present otherwise, potentially causing unnecessary, or even fatal, cellular damage.

26:05 -  35:10, 40:22 : What about long-term effects? If you have already gotten the vaccine, could there be negative impacts in the future, even if you are fine right now?

Key Points:

What happens when the immune system is “preset” to attack coronaviruses?  Dr. Sucharit Bhakdi contends that over time the immune response that the mRna vaccines “teach” the body could actually worsen future infections by either Covid-19 or related variants due to a condition called antibody-dependent enhancement (ADE). This theory is not yet confirmed by clinical trials, but Dr. Bhakdi asserts that this is because there has not been enough time since the roll-out of the Covid-19 vaccines to see whether this will become an issue for vaccinated individuals.
